Sorry for the lack of updates, folks. Earlier this week I was wiping some dirt off my glasses when I suddenly realized that I was holding a lense in each hand, and my hands were a foot apart. Without a snap or even a pop, my glasses had split cleanly apart right through the nosebridge. During finals week. Awkward. I have no idea why they broke, although I guess after three years I should just be glad they lasted that long. (Also, my boyfriend did sit on them a few weeks ago which probably stressed them. Oops.)
Without my glasses I'm blind as a bat. It's so sad. I have contacts, thank goodness, so I can see when necessary, but they have always irritated my eyes and the prescription's a couple of years old, too, so it isn't quite accurate. I can only stand to wear them about eight hours maximum.
Reading's nearly impossible, unfortunately. In the contacts, it's straining to keep my eyes focused on the type. With the glasses, now crudely held together with tape, it's uncomfortable because the lenses are no longer at quite the right angle, so the words don't look quite right.
Hopefully I'll get back to reviewing soon! In the meantime, I'll just here and stew about all the books I want to be reading right now.
What books are you looking forward to reading this summer? New releases? Old favorites?
